This is the definitive version, to my mind, and the Cloud’s at least. It is Richard Burton in the intro, which leads into one of the most poignant and beautiful songs I know of, and ever shall I imagine.
It speaks of something so very dear lost in an instant.
I bought the vinyl single of this song twenty-six years ago, and still it has me. As it always will.
“Forever Autumn,” Justin Haywood, Richard Burton, and H.G. Wells — awesome.

I intended letting that one slide due to your age and what not, but seeing as you’ve mentioned it anyway…..*ducks from the flying furniture aimed at the Cloud and winks.

It’s a powerful combination, and the words, always the words, I feel it conjures something without the need for this age’s insistent visuals. Something all of its own.
Glad you like it, hoped you would. smiles You may well have summed it up better than I there laughs.

I can see why you like this track. An enjoyable mix of song and words. Quite good indeed.

It harks back to my childhood, and the first time I ever heard it, and that was apart from ‘War of the Worlds’ as an album, it had me in tears. It’s so very beautifully sad. – sonmi on the Cloud

It makes me sad.

Yes, it is a melancholy song, yet I always enjoy listening to it, though that is perhaps due to having played it since I was so very young. I think I shall try and find something in the vaults that will be happier, for I do not wish to make you sad.
