Something for sonmi alone, that she has cobbled within the workshop – recycled bicycle chain, an ornate large clasp, and a wee Penny Farthing at the end of the extender chain. At present, tis just a present, for herself. Soon she’s aiming to create hat and shoes to match.

It is! And thank you! I saw something similar online and immediately wanted to make one. They are an absolute bugger to get ALL of the lube and oil off, but I got there in the end. smiles.

I like it. Designed in the much esteemed and unique fashion of sonmi.
I’ve a number of old chainsaw chains, discarded from recent log repairs, I’ve been wondering what to do with. I couldn’t bring myself to throw them out, you know. As they’re still fairly sharp you’d want to take care wearing them, of course. Or you could give them away as gifts to people you don’t fancy.

A friend of mine used to weld motorbike chains into candelabras, and smaller candle holders. They looked brilliant. You should give it a go!

Heh, it is appearing upon many blogs a protest pop up I think. I do like chains mind you. Bicycle chains move in an almost organic way when you play with them. They pass water all over worry beads in my opinion.

Well they’re mine, I made the bracelet and photographed it. I make jewellery, some of it is in ‘Sonmi’s Creations’ above. I’m glad you like them, I enjoy photography almost as much as creating my jewels.

Gorgeous & clever & very conceptually presented. All your work is of delicate intricacy, and definitely encapsulates your essence. I’m currently wearing a bicycle pendant necklace my sister gave me for Christmas, as I don’t wear jewelry unless its a gift. And I wear it till it either falls off, or gets lost somehow.

Thank you Michael, I’m very happy that you think so – smiles. The rock is part of a large collection of ‘ground and star’ pieces that adorn the Cloud’s vast halls. (Mostly ground, but a few meteorites are hanging about too). I like to drape jewels across rocks, tis a specialty of mine. nods

It’s wonderful to see how your creative mind permeates all that your fingers touch. Whether it is the letters on the keyboard or pieces of medal. I love the little bike charm at the end of the chain. It gives the piece an excellent contrast between the sort of reclaimed industrial feeling, to a nostalgic artistic playfulness. Sorry I suck in describing why I like a piece of art, but that’s the best I could do. lol

Ooohh…A tiara! I am oscillating between whether or wish I knew this or I didn’t beforehand and it was a surprise. On one hand I love surprises, on the other hand now that it’s not a surprise I can choose the right dress for the occasion!
