Something to Put the Wind in Your Sails Sir/Misses/You Over There Looking Uncomfortble.
Some you fine folks will recall one of the last films recommended by Esme, and how truly strange and wonderful it was when you took it in (and gave it a biscuit and a mug of hot chocolate no doubt) — The Lobster.
Well, thanks to a new, and most welcome member of the Cloud community (aware this now sounds like The Cloud is some kind of institution for the disadvantaged and unfortunate which is definitely a gated institute of sorts, but makes no attempt to rectify this, as it seems about right) — CineMuseFilms, I have another absolute blinder of a strange, must-see celluloid affair. He most kindly, after having perused the Cloud’s extensive list of freaky fine films, and discussing ‘the Lobster’ in some detail too — recommended Esme watch ‘Swiss Army Man’. And she did just that the very next night.
Here is your mission — you must watch this film. You must not look up any information upon it’s innards beyond that which is detailed right here, right now. Esme sings a swift chorus of Fat Boy Slim’s excellent tune at this juncture. No matter how much you think you will not like this film after fifteen minutes have passed . . . you must continue to watch through to the end. Because the end is a very different place to the beginning and it will definitely at some point have you laughing, and then thinking some. Esme does not speak with fork in mouth, so take heed. I cannot think of any of my followers who would not end up loving this film. But you must watch to the end! – laughs

Normally, I post a very small and quite obscure piece of the film in question, in order to give little away, but entice folks in none-the-less. I can’t do that with this one. Just watch it. High praise indeed! – laughs. I’d love to have been in the room at the first pitch for this one, the fact that anyone would put up the money at all makes me want to shake them by the hand. There’s so little in the way of true variety that gets made outside of small independent films, and the imagination employed here is quite something.
I haven’t seen that one no but I will be doing so now. Thank you John, always a pleasure to see you round these parts – gestures to the roundabout and swings he’s been playing on for the last half an hour – Hahahahaha.

Hahahahaha. No. Apart from the fact I try and get people to go into most films and books without any preconceived ideas about the plot — like most interesting films, it builds up slowly; it would sound strange and lose it’s power entirely if I even gave it a go. I know some other folks who don’t bother with films either actually. the ones I list are specifically unusual and tend to make folks think a bit.

I will admit, this film you have so generously shared with your readers has somewhat piqued my interest which, if you knew me, like only a few fortunate individuals do, you’d know my interest is rarely, if ever, ‘piqued’, and so, having accomplished such a feat with your above effort should cause you to feel quite proud.
That said, I have serious doubts about the possibility of my ever watching the film. The reason being is that it stars the actor, (well known for his adept portrayal of Harry Potter), Daniel Radcliffe. You see, every so often I take it upon myself to dislike something or someone for absolutely no reason and to share, at every given opportunity, my disapproval of this thing with anyone within earshot. In fact, I may even somewhat like, or in some way enjoy the thing I pretend to not like (my true feelings (known only to those fortunate few I mentioned earlier) matter little). For years I feigned a most serious distaste for the noisy electric warbling of your fellow countrymen from a rock and roll band known as ‘Led Zeppelin’, or maybe ‘The Led Zeppelin’, I can’t remember which. However, after nearly a decade of pretend hatred one becomes bored with it, and must find a new subject to focus their disgust upon. Mine, for now, is Daniel Radcliffe.

I have never taken to him either actually, but felt I owed it to CineMuseFilm to watch it through as he was sure it would be one ideally suited to my odd and curious list. To be fair, I am realising that many people need more than a title and a warning off Esme to watch a film , whereas Esme herself is always intrigued by the challenge, however, that is as it is and I’d not want to force Daniel upon anyone. It may be useful for you to know that he plays a dead body and therefore is nothing at all like Harry Potter. Or it may not (laughs).
Murky buckets for all those words you have left me today President and Founder! I know you are a busy man, what with the orchard and critters and Wilson.

Ohhhhhh noooooo. It goes from one extreme to the other. I found it incredibly moving by the end. A wonderful message. I could tell as I watched it that some people will not see it through, and that’s such a shame. Bela! Ah well.

Beautifully conveyed sir. Not only do I encourage ye doubters to visit this ‘ere link – I shall go farther, yes, farther! Oh I am pleased, it’s so unusual, and I knew nothing at all about it beforehand, which is all the better generally I find. I couldn’t believe the difference in emotion between the beginning and the end, bravo to whoever backed it when they heard the premise! Hahahahaha.

I’m terrible for reading reviews or listening to Mark Kermode before I watch things. My other half has all but banned me from passing judgement. I don’t know who funded this but you are right, they must have an open mind to say the least! Sat through most of it wonder what the eff we were doing but couldn’t quite tear eyes away. Surprisingly powerful, though!
