Just two people
Hands clasped, tender;
One born of the other,
The daughter and the mother;
Pinpoints in a vast constellation of life
Traversing the uneven
Path from no-more
To ever-more;
Out to the illimitable beyond.
Just two people;
Assured and reassured,
From first beginnings
Exact; the same, end to end.
Every question answered,
All fears assuaged;
The bond will hold
Just as strong,
Just as sure, as true.
Just two people:
One hand relaxes,
Sworn to reconnect.
Breath by slowing breath
They are gently, softly
Parted by impassive time,
One to return to the before,
The other catching a later train
Back to the stars.

You do good poem. * Nods solemnly *. This is quite moving. That last line! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I seem to have something in my eye… * runs off to grab a tissue*

Yes, and thank you. It’s a simple tribute, but I know she’d love it.

As a mother myself, I bet she would. * sends emergency back-up tissues just in case plus a huge long-distance internet hug, which hopefully can be traded in for a real life one from somebody a bit closer *
