Number Two – House of Leaves – Mark.Z.Danielewski
One of, if not the most unusual book you will ever read. It is acrobatic in it’s peculiarity, it’s deviance, and begins with the words – “This is not for you”. Which is absolutely true for those who like to read within safe boundaries.
I do believe a piece of me is still lost in there.

It does and it most definitely is well worth the effort.
Though some people would hate it. You have to be able to enjoy abstract elements and clever curly prose. I think you’d like it 🙂

House of leaves? Now, I seen my share of piles of wet leaves, and perhaps some little insect or another did live within that pile, but to call it a house, I don’t think so.

I did once, long ago while traveling the mid section of this country by mobile home, read this book, and do recollect (truly, I think) having to spin the book about like a windmill at certain parts as well as mumbling to myself on more than a few occasions “What the ‘bad word'”!

I thought you might have found it before now. 🙂 I was sorely temped not to approve the comment mind you, because you give away some of the surprise with your windmill talk tsk – (slaps his wrist and tells him to go sit on the three legged stool in the corner of the library, face to the wall and think about what he has done today.)
