I do like V for Vendetta, though I’m really here to suggest Z for Zardoz as well as Yor, but only for the opening theme song.

I cannot believe I have never heard of Zardoz, another science fiction film to take in there without doubt. Yor is also new to me, however it does look very much like a big pair of red pants. You have only recommended it for the music though I note. I shall investigate the pair (of films not pants). *Update – I have watched Zardoz and you are right, it should be on the list, it’s clearly odd enough, and the music is indeed the best bit. I’m still amazed I had never heard of it before as it really is as mad as toast. My least favourite moment was when people started licking Sean Connery’s sweat. Bleahrrrgh.

Excellent. It is possibly my favorite odd film. This may only be due to my having seen it at an impressionable age on late night television, which means any hope for my examining it critically (which I have no desire to do) would only come after a professionally lead intervention.
