a real ba-boon to society, don't take a Bonobo for a Monkey, fly Nikko fly!, slow slow Loris quick quick slow Loris, stop monkeying around or you'll never make it to prime mate status mate
Following on from the last post in monkey-see, monkey-do fashion, this musical marvel has shouldered its way brashly here, and quite rightly so with a set of lyrics such as it proffers. A copy of the original single lies hidden away in the Cloud’s vaults as the Cloud has excellent taste, but terrible trouble keeping headphones of any sort on.
Such is life.
This was from yesterday? Why, just yesterday I was telling a lengthy story while traveling by train about my introduction to this very band! (long ago) I had (foolishly) taken a room in a house full of young ladies (I believe I have already mentioned my ‘dreamer status’) and was then assigned the smallest room (of course) at the top of the stairs which aside from having the word “EAST” painted in red on the ceiling also had, as I discovered accidentally, a secret door inside the closet leading to a narrow room running the length of the house!!
I barely escaped with my life and a copy of Doolittle

It was indeed, and although I don’t like the sound of the painted ‘EAST’ one bit, you must have found the hidden room an absolute delight when not fearing for your very life. ‘Debaser’ also ties in with another film on my list – ‘Un Chien Andalou’ – which was suggested by another traipser along this wordy and possibly worthy road, infinitely Remote (also known as masodo) who has an interesting website going on round the following parts – http://blogdogit.com – I owe a plug there for he convinced me to watch said film, which I had never envisioned occurring as the whole ‘eye ball slicing’ malarkey had previously put me off for what I suspected to be life. I found it to live up to the hype, a fascinating film for it’s time. For any time in fact.

Hiya sonmicloud! Thanks for the plug, I appreciate it to no end.
I first saw ‘Un Chien Andalou’ on the Big Screen with several unsuspecting film studies students and honestly you need to hear the entire theater “EEEWWWWwwww” in unison to get the full effect of that sequence of cinematic wizardry.
Also- Enjoyed the Tuneage presented above. Thank you for that as well!

Hello Mr masodo, you are most welcome, for the plug and the music too. I know so far as exposure goes, you are at the opposite end of the scale from myself and the Cloud so to speak. (Not in a dodgy sense ha!). We can call the music a fair trade for that word of yours, ‘tuneage’ which is new to the Cloud and I, and liked considerably. Had I been attending the cinema that day not a sound would have passed my lips as the building suspense and knowledge of what was to come, would have been all too much for my sensitive self and a shout of “TIMMMBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!” would have gone up as I fell like a lead weight to the ground, fainting all lady-like like.
I should also recommend a visit here to there – http://illimitableoceanofinexplicability.wordpress.com/ – as The President and Founder has one of the most impressive blogs I have ever set my pupils upon (eyes not children, I wouldn’t set children upon anyone, they can be a nasty lot you know.)

Your recommendation to visit The President and Founder’s – The Illimitable Ocean of Inexplicability comes a bit late as I have poked my head in on more than one occasion (I know technically that would include 2 but I seriously think the number is more circa 4 but not really sure.) – This has been a welcome reminder however, as a quick check of the site now only serves to illustrate how prolific a producer of posts the President and Founder proves to portray and how particularly pleased I would be to partake (if only passively) that prodigious package of particularly poignant prose (and pictures.)

How perfectly put by such a prestigious personage as yourself, it positively pleases me as punch to read that. (I’m hearing all this in ‘V’s voice you know, which is perfect.)

Ooh, that eyeball slicing has remained in my mind for the past 40 odd years – very, very, nasty indeed. I can barely go to Boots for an eye test any more.

laughing I must admit I avoided watching this famous film for a long time, it was masodo who managed to convince me in the end. He also pointed me to La Jetee which I highly recommend. It isn’t very long and is the precursor to the film ‘Twelve Monkeys’ which is a splendid affair.

Verily, my visualization of “‘V’s voice” is virtually vacant. I haven’t the vaguest… In view of this very vacuous, veritable viscous understanding I must vehemently reveal the vagaries of my vexation and ask that you might volunteer the meaning of “‘V’s voice” (while I still have a vestige of value to vaunt*) *I think that is the verb.

Ahhh, I see… (btw – the “/>” is killing the above link but I know the secret knock.)
I am glad you pointed that out. I was only yesterday (catch that The President and Founder?) saying to Mrs. Remote that I cannot believe I have yet to see the film “V for Vendetta” and wondered even as i inquired if that was not where this was heading. I was unsure however, that this “V” was not a veiled (excuse me) reference to the title of this post…

You haven’t seen it? YOU MUST SEE IT! And treat Mrs. Remote to the experience too, if you’re willing to take the chance of her losing her heart to V that is.
(I think I’ve successfully amended the link issue, thank you for letting me know.)

I SAW IT!!
It all makes perfect sense to me now. Really, what an excellent film. Thanks for nudging me further in the direction I was heading. As for Mrs. Remote she too enjoyed it immensely. As for her heart, I am pretty sure it still belongs to me, Infinitely 😉

Wonderful! I’m so pleased you enjoyed it, though I knew you would, it’s a bonus that the mrs does too, and doubly so since she hasn’t fallen madly for V like I did, I love his way with words, it’s quite beautiful. I also have a copy of the original graphic novel from whence it came. We go back V and I ;D
