“Words ought to be a little wild, for they are the assaults of thoughts on the unthinking.”
John Maynard Keynes
I like to think “Good shit, Maynard” was in reference to our friend, John Maynard Keynes, but, sadly, this is incorrect. However, when has something being wrong stopped anyone from believing it? I do it regularly, and by that I mean daily, every morning after breakfast I sit down and think of anywhere between 15 and 35 things that are false and I (with fists clenched and eyes closed tight) repeat over and over “I believe it, I believe it”. You wouldn’t believe (false or not) how smoothly the rest of my day then goes.
Oh, yes, the “Good shit, Maynard” came from a commercial for breakfast cereal wherein a Father says “Good stuff, Maynard” to his son (who I assume is named Maynard). Interestingly, the little boy tells his Father a bear ate his cereal, and of course the father does not believe this, until, at the end of the commercial, the little boy opens the kitchen door revealing a large bear with a bowl of breakfast cereal who asks “More Malt-o-meal, please”!

That saying is not known on the land my Cloud and I float over so thanks for the fill in with the large bear scoffing away. My Maynard quote post originated after some browsing was combined with a mention of him in one of your posts, but I cannot recall the post, nor the content. Do not take this as a slur, as I have much going on with the Cloud and things such as details leak out left right and centre like melting ice-pops. There was some influence from you anyway. So you have influence, and can demolish buildings at the weekend in a most novel way. That’s not a bad start to your plan for world domination. (You haven’t exactly mentioned that you have such a plan, but the whole ‘wearing a hat and sunglasses in the bath’ thing gives it away totally to those in the know.)
