Gerroff ‘er!! laughing – Thank you George, dogs are a true wonder to have in our lives, I’m glad you love them too. I shall tell Rosie you’re offering back up and presumably biscuits as that’s generally the way to hold her attention.

Rosie is the business. Dogs never let you down. I’m still missing Skipper the Bastard Border Collie as the old man named him. The worst thing ever was having to agree his death as he was so seriously ill. Maybe the best lyric I ever wrote was Skippers song ‘Pain’ I wrote in ½ an hour locked in the loo. True. Dogs are better than humans. No worries if it’s a nuisance listening etc. but here’s the song, I guess in praise of all/any dogs we have to say ‘goodbye’ to. Not so Rosie, she is, as I said, the business ~ George

That’s really beautiful George, you’ve caught it in your hands, that pain, and the release that causes it. Skipper the Bastard, a fine name. Thank you for sharing the song with me. I wrote this
https://sonmicloud.wordpress.com/2015/11/12/the-long-goodbye/ – Only four days before my dear Lardy left me – https://sonmicloud.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/my-beautiful-girl-1999-2015/
There’s no getting past the pain, but there is a way to live with it. I know people who will never have another cat or dog, because they couldn’t take the grief again. The joy balances it for me, I hope that will always be the case. Dogs are better than humans, yes – I couldn’t agree more. x

I’m still shivering. Beautiful, both pieces. There’s something about a dog that humans just don’t have. It’s bigger than just loyalty. It’s genuine friendship without conditions ~ George

Thank you Swarn, Rosie says she would answer personally, but she’s more of a touch screen dog than a keyboard one and her ipad is on the blink, and yes she does take care of me, we are as thick as thieves. x

Being exactly the same I was aware this would happen, and I’m surprised only one person has said so – very eagle-eyed Clare, as ever.

Raising a toast to Rosie’s half-a-decade notage-without-dotage, as witness we her most wild abandon, the Roman numeral V as it were. And, YES, there are 5 letters in HAPPY (all CAPS as is fit as a chisel for Latin monumental carvings: only the two Ps are curvular, and two Ps may be needed should we quaff too much beverAGE. Hear here 🙂

Well now thank you kindly good sir, we see your toast and raise you two bagels and a baguette! V, one of our favourite letters here upon the Cloud too so a fortuitous age to be, all ages with a V in them are particularly special, few realise. Arthur Century in particularly particularity so.

Lovely, Esme. From the looks of things you don’t ask Rose to pose for pictures more often than you absolutely must, which is the hallmark of a loving companion. In her willingness to go to such lengths for you here, I cannot help but feel I am witnessing an inkling of all the loving support that must occur off-screen. What a beautiful friend…

She’s a quiet soul is Rosie, and sits like this quite often (minus balloon usually), after a while she’s been known to chuck herself backwards so she’s lying down, queen of the velour universe that she is, hahahahaha. We are incredibly close, there’s none like a dog for unadulterated love, a fine friend indeed. Thank you, Michael.

Oh my dear sweet Rosie-roo! 😍Happy birthday to you!🥳 Is Rosie-roo awarded her own cloud today or does she get to pester Esme upon hers??😂 Her ecstatic face shows the thrills of growing a year older.😆Give Ms.Rosie-roo an extra “Good Girl” from the blogosphere world!!♥️♥️

Hahahaha, thank you Stephanie, Rosie would sit on your foot were you here (it’s one of her signs of deep affection) for your kind words. She doesn’t have her own Cloud for the day no, I tried that once and she ate half of it and chewed the rest, the troposphere was on amber alert and I had a lot of explaining to do to the West wind I can tell you. Lessons were learned.

Ooh so do I! They aren’t here long enough by far. My last woofer was sixteen and a half when she left me, I’d rescued her back when she was two, so a good innings, but not good enough ❤️
