Elementary elementals my dear, ink ye ink me, Monica Ferrell, mouth-watering erosion, piped yearning, Poetry, Rime Riche, tongues tied
You can feel the teeth of this one. Enjoy.
Rime Riche – Monica Ferrell
You need me like ice needs the mountain
On which it breeds. Like print needs the page.
You move in me like the tongue in a mouth,
Like wind in the leaves of summer trees,
Gust-fists, hollow except for movement and desire
Which is movement. You taste me the way the claws
Of a pigeon taste that window-ledge on which it sits,
The way water tastes rust in the pipes it shuttles through
Beneath a city, unfolding and luminous with industry.
Before you, the table of elements
Was lacking, and I as a noble gas floated
Free of attachment. Before you,
The sun and the moon were paper-thin plates
Some machinist at his desk merely clicked into place.

I hadn’t known of Monica Ferrell, thank you most kindly and mindly for the introduction Esme. 🙂 Rime Riche? Yes, they do! Each set of thoughts formed in my mind like blocks of concrete poetry floating in the air betwixt cloud and Earth. Floating blocks swirling and twirling like sky otters is what they did. At least, that’s what I saw, that’s all. 🙂

I’ve read her others and like her style, though this one stayed with me long after the pages were closed. It’s strong as all love poetry should be nods.
Sky otters! I see them now, chasing each other in rounds, in Crete with no cons to consider.
You’re most welcome Bill, as ever.

I spy OTTERy veering around the pOTTERy,
The pOTTERy behind the shrubbery,
Where they really not should OTTERbe.

What the fuck? I wouldn’t be putting up with that! I don’t want any fucking pigeons sucking on my ‘window ledge’. * Mad face *
