Works well enough for me and I thank you with a tear in the corner of my eye. This evening I was also able to read it at our local monthly Poets Out Loud meeting. ‘Many a mickle … ‘ I’ve read that David overcame Goliath and I’ve always liked the metaphor.
Aw, this is true laughs. I’ve been considering creating some audio files of my poems as Hariod told me I orate them so well. That’s far less scary than on stage, though I’m not sure if people really bother listening to audio versions of prose. I do, but I prefer them written down for the most part or having the person live in front of me (rather than dead which would make for a dismal show all round). Someone I used to follow (cardinal sins led to expulsion from the Cloud) posted links to videos of himself reading and in some respects performing his work and they were brilliant, but I can’t go that far. What would people make of the long tail and eyes the size of dinner plates? Best kept under wraps Esme’s visage, it allows for people’s imaginations to make of her what they wish her to be and I like that very much.
Esme gibbering away to Ben who is politely listening to her waffle upon the Cloud
Politely listening to waffle is a requirement for many courses of ‘education” at all levels, not to mention families, friendships and marriages. What you wrote here was in fact quite interesting and in no way strained my good manners. 🙂 (P.S. That is not a challenge BTW.)

Out loud to an audience! I’m in awe of you there Ben, I’d need to hire someone to do the same for any of my poems, well done sir. ❤

Thank you. I’ve been performing on and off since my teens so it’s not that daunting these days, in most situations at least.
