Thank you John! 2020 next . . . the future is here, or rather there, and there, and there . . .

I think I’ve answered on your blog rather than here as I didn’t realise you’d reblogged me, thank you Bill!

I’m not long back from my travels Bill, so forgive me for not replying sooner! ‘FANCY IN NUBIBUS’ – Hahahahaha, that tickles me on its own I must admit, yet the rest is a joy too. Thank you, and also for the link to such an interesting blog too. 400 years and still got wind in her sails!

The esteemed Sam C. was writing this very poem for his inestimable contemporary poet Esme. Yes, the same Esme upon the cloud 400 years and “still got wind in her sails” as 2020 looms mere hours away. 🙂

Sam was a riot when he’d had a sherry or two, but get him on the tennents super cans and the police would need to get involved.

I had a wonderful one in the countryside thank you Ben, took the sun with me in a rucksack when it was dozing.

Glad you had a good time. So that’s where the sun went. Neatly caught the joy, received with gratitude. I’ve used some for now and packed the rest away for future use. One never knows. (And if distracted one doesn’t even know when does beyond credibility know. Belt and braces at all times!) I’m off to Scotland for Hogmanay tomorrow. Or that’s the plan. Who knows? Not Edinburgh though; I always like to avoid cliché except in the cause of art. Have a memorable 2020. ❤️

Oooo lovely! I hope you’ve packed your kilt and sporran. I’m not sure I want memorable. Memorable tends to be like Dantes Inferno, hahahaha.

Given the temperature even the women were (very sensibly) wearing trews. I always attach the term ‘memorable’ to enjoyable events, and this year’s Hogmanay and follow-up was definitely, while not outstanding, certainly one I shall be remembering. As for those infernal moments from my past I never bother trying to recall them as I have learnt that they will come calling from time to time with no help from me. 🙂

Trews. By the Gods and overweight frogs I haven’t heard anyone but myself and my mother use that term for trousers for years! I’m so glad you had a fab time, of all places I think Sconny Botland must be one of the best to be at such a time. x

“Trews” is still in use up there and I suspected you would enjoy me choosing it here, knowing you as a connoisseur of the erudite and neglected. 😉
