"The jaws that bite the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!", And now each night and all night long Over those plains still roams the Dong; And above the wail of the Chimp and Snipe You may hear the squeak of his plaintive pipe, While ever he seeks but seeks in vain To meet with his Jumbly Girl again; Lonely and wild - all night he goes - The Dong with a luminous Nose!
Feast your peepers upon the work of Ellen Jewitt. She creates creatures from other worlds, other dimensions perhaps, melding the beauty of the animal form with that of fauna and mechanical to great effect. I am quite wild about these, and though I like them all very much, I have to lean towards the Turtle and the Frog as my personal favourites. Her website can be accessed by clicking on her name above and it is well worth a visit should you wish to see more.
Very creative, very cool. I like the Cheshire Cat. Eerie and maybe a little bit scary.

They are aren’t they? Eerie and a little scary appeals to humans, which is why Alice and her cronies are so very popular I imagine. smiles in an eerie and maybe a little bit scary way.

Excellent choices. I have a love for bats generally, and batty people too (in the sense ‘mad as a bat’ rather than any other meaning, just to clear that one up). You qualify, and so do I, which is most agreeable to me. *smiles and then flies off batting her eyelashes.

Honesty is absolutely necessary with children, and adults, and bats too, unless a well crafted lie is needed, then of course, through your teeth every time winks. You may well have qualified for something else too. But for now that is a secret shhhh…..

Hands you a tennis raquet with cross stitched ‘honesty’, so we can hit heads into common sense and if need be into clouds … Oh secrets

The first (squid?) and last, octopus, are my favorites. All appear as if they’re ready to move at any second. Very talented artist.

They are quite brilliant. I enjoy pieces that appear clockwork, cogs and pulleys, and here, she’s produced something quite unique along those lines. And I agree, the sea creatures are superb, and pleasantly disturbing with it.
