Back Bedroom Baroque by Liam Wilkinson
This is not a recording, circa 1998
of the Cologne Chamber Orchestra
conducted by Helmut Muller-Bruhl
but the orchestra themselves,
huddled in the back bedroom
for a private performance of Bach’s
Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B Minor.
The Flautist can hardly raise his elbow
above the Harpsichordist’s shoulders,
crammed as they are between several
Violinists and an antique dresser.
And Heir Muller-Bruhl, perched
on the unpacked box of saucepans,
knows that the risk of falling
into the clumsy cluster of musicians
is what lends this piece it’s unique
blend of fury and exhilaration.
I was in a back bedroom broke and
couldn’t leave town.
It was frustrating you know as
the wind could leave town and
often did

The wind may be free, but tis doomed to wander wildly, without rest, forever.
So in that sense…you were better off.

is this in relation to this? I found this on the side, but I very much love it.

Oh yes, it’s a play on the word ‘conductor’ – as in the chap who directs orchestras, slipped into a quote wearing the flimsy cloak of ‘semi-conductor’, which is , (and I quote, it being early morning an all) – ‘a solid substance that has a conductivity between that of an insulator and that of most metals, either due to the addition of an impurity or because of temperature effects. Devices made of semiconductors, notably silicon, are essential components of most electronic circuits.’
All tags lead to Rome here. No, that’s not right – not Rome, the content of the posts. Probably. laughs. I’m pleased to hear you liked the tag Jess, they are often just as much a part of the whole as the big bang (b-of-the).

I’m enjoying both your disclaimer, and the swearing.

Disclaimer’s are extremely prevalent, or becoming more so within this world of mine. You can never be to clear, only if you are a freshly cleaned window.

Yes. I’m a huge fan of them myself, and always, definitely use them. (Probably).

How good are words that come after sentences and cancel them out completely. It’s like writing on a blackboard and accidently letting your sleeve erase everything.. Totally superb . A good contradiction, also , would sometimes be enough for dinner

Ha, that is so true. Also, you don’t want to be sued by some fat head who may be complaining that you said you liked oranges the best out of all the fruits, then saw you kissing a banana.
