Lol. It actually looks like our acelga, which is spinach beet/Swiss chard ish. What it is doesn’t matter really, it’s green, edible, self seeds and grows most of the year round.
Where on earth did you find that story?!

Oooh sounds lovely. I wonder if I can get seeds over here. I shall look into it.
I didn’t find it…it found me laughs. It was a header story on Yahoo that I noticed as I was going into my emails.

That sounds marvellous, I can see an email address next to your picture here in the comments section, shall I use that? I’ve received seeds from all over the world, but never Gib. No problems up to now, but never say never. Cheers me dear. nods.
“I wonder what the contents of your email box is like?” – Full of crappy spam as tis a Yahoo one I am not fond of at all.

Fantastic. And perfect for Leigh’s eyes. I loved her. I really thought she was utterly beautiful.
A former blogging friend started doing a skit on Rhett and Scarlett. On old blog posts of mine there are comments from her in her Scarlett and Rhett personae.

I agree, she was one of the most beautiful creatures to ever exist. Perfect for the role too.
I’m liking the double persona idea, though the twenty eight I already have scattered over the web are taxing enough.

Her ‘Blanche’ was perfect. I have seen all her films so far as I know. I was brought up on a Cloud where I was forced to watch every film that ever was in the history of the world ever. Or so it seemed at the time. In retrospect they were all well chosen and rarely poor in quality. Bette Davis was superb too. I wouldn’t have wanted to be friends with her, but by the Gods she was a great actor. Jean Simmons was also exceedingly beautiful and talented, but seems lesser rated on the whole.
I’d say you have scope for a few more. I bet you could do a good ‘Blanche’! I could also thinks me, methinks.

Well, there are plenty of morons out there, but I’d have thought most of us females are safe from cannibals pulling up a chair, tucking a napkin in their collar, pulling out a knife and fork and getting the branston pickle out.
Probably.

Too many clitorises? For what? A party? To fit into your pocket? For the sake of sanity? For just the one man that you are? To cause a fracas? For a barber quartet? To fit in a mini? Hahahahahaha

I don’t think she was Leigh but she was outstanding in Elmer Gantry with the luscious Burt Lancaster. One of my favourite films. I love that whole religious charlatan theme, and I love the singing too.
Run out of Leigh. My head is full of water heaters don’t ask, lest it rain upon the cloud. Or in our case. Leak, and fall off the wall…

Great film, and I’ll watch anything with Burt in too. Spartacus, an obvious choice, is one I love with Jean in, I’m swayed enormously by the score for that one, the ‘Love Theme’ kills me every time I hear it. I’m a score/soundtrack lover.
On the score, I find this interesting (I’m aware no one else may join in nods – ‘The original score for Spartacus was composed and conducted by six-time Academy Award nominee Alex North. It was nominated by the American Film Institute for their list of greatest film scores. It is a textbook example of how modernist compositional styles can be adapted to the Hollywood leitmotif technique. North’s score is epic, as befits the scale of the film. After extensive research of music of that period, North gathered a collection of antique instruments that, while not authentically Roman, provided a strong dramatic effect. These instruments included a sarrusophone, Israeli recorder, Chinese oboe, lute, mandolin, Yugoslav flute, kythara, dulcimer, and bagpipes. North’s prize instrument was the ondioline, similar to an earlier version of the electronic synthesizer, which had never been used in film before. Much of the music is written without a tonal center, or flirts with tonality in ways that most film composers would not risk. One theme is used to represent both slavery and freedom, but is given different values in different scenes, so that it sounds like different themes. The love theme for Spartacus and Varinia is the most accessible theme in the film, and there is a harsh trumpet figure for Crassus.’
I’m posting a link here to the music, many people will recognise it without realising.
