Excruciating, in a quite delightful way; and yes, the man with two larynxes . . . suddenly appears to go into a trance and sing through his nose.

I associate it mainly with the film it was the main title theme for –‘Midnight Cowboy‘ – it makes me think of friendship in a warm fashion, as ultimately, that is the film’s essence also, though mine own friends are not borne for the most part through such unfortunate circumstance. Even though some might not see the warmth mind, somehow that’s the take-away for me at the end. If you haven’t seen the film, give it a go, I think you’d like it H. smiles. x

Will do. As long as it’s not scary. I don’t like scary films – they get my adrenergic receptors going all a-fluster.

No, t’aint scary. Not full of laughs, but not a ‘boo’ film. For the old adrenergic receptors I prescribe a cushion in the face. writes out a prescription for Hariod.

The wistfulness of the tune amplifies the nostalgia.
I was surpirsed to see it was from 1969. It was still getting lots of airplay when I first started listening to radio in the early seventies.

It was wasn’t it? I recall the same. A song I grew up listening to on the radio. ‘Wistful’ – yes, and there’s a yearning in there too I reckon.
