The comments I receive have stopped ‘nesting’, and are just appearing one underneath another. I’m not sure if it is doing so out-of-order of specific replies, or they are just slotting themselves in as they appear. I have not changed any settings, nor when I check, have any changes randomly occurred. I’ll get onto the powers that be about it…eventually, for the moment I am distracted. If all it has done is stopped the lengthening of the nesting to the point where a comment is just a long line of letters, then I’m pleased with the change, as that is clearly ridiculous. If anyone else has noticed a change, do let me know. Thank you – sonmi.

Not entirely sure…think mine is ‘as was’…but then I’m dyslexic!

Could well be a boon that, with wordpress and its quirks. nods ruefully.

The ‘comments’ have become self-aware and will seat themselves as they see fit.

Reply button pressed – “I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t let you do that.”
Reply button pressed again – “Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.”
You may well be right there Don…

Nothing unusual spotted in any of the scores of blogs I’ve visited since yours started doing this, nor on my own. Perhaps it’s a bug with the Chateau theme (shat? oh!) that manifested with recent WP software changes?

Good idea about the theme, I’ll have a look into that. Thank you.

Hey mister, I leave comments all the time!

Comment-sense. Now that’s something in itself. When I look at your site on my phone, it does the letter line thing.

It certainly is missy. I wonder now if it has only been my own site that has the comments strung out all skinny thin and I simply haven’t realised when looking at other blogs…considers a change of theme.

Strung out all skinny thin HAHA. A change of theme is super refreshing, I’d highly recommend it. Like shopping for new skin.

It took a great deal of time to find the theme I liked the best mind you, however, there’s no harm in trying them all on and seeing how they look in the mirror eh? Times they are a changing nods and smiles.

Yes I think the nesting is back, however the stringing out is still prevalent, and from what I can see most people don’t have a problem with this because most people don’t have people chatting away to each other for an aeon in comment threads, (tis something wordpress has not updated as a feature since first it began, and could do with sorting out in my opinion, such as that is), but I do. The solution methinks is to take the replies back to the main body of the post after when someone (or myself, or the Cloud), has a lot to say. I’ll promt said individual when necessary. Having said all that…it is time for a change anyway. It turns out there are very few themes which have the tags displayed at the side of the post. This is essential for the Cloud, because the tags are integral to the whole shebang, and I don’t think people take much notice when they are slotted in below. This is of course because tags have a purpose and only need be at the bottom for said purpose. I have taken the tags area and made it into something else. So, serves me right eh? Anyhoo, after several decades I think I may have found one which fulfills all my needs (for there are more than tags to consider in all this, oh yes there is).
Thanks for popping over masodo smiles.
