A gorgeous, smooth, treacle-like song that has a fine video to match.
Ironic, postmodern pop at its best. A T-Rex for the noughties.

Yes it’s very T-Rex, and I love the imagery in the video, clever stuff.
I think Professor Taboo might like this one. I don’t know where I get that idea from, can’t imagine at all.

I somehow think you’re right. It’s the sexiest kind of sexy pop. Not so much ‘in your face . . .’ 😮

I was an all. – looks knowledgeable and almost pulls it off
“Not so much ‘in your face . . .’” – Oh dear. Hahahahaha.

Mmmm, LOVE me some Goldfrapp! ❤
This is exactly the style, genre, and “treacle-like” fashion and music (ala Röyksopp, Cyrstal Castles, Purity Ring, The TR/ST, etc) that myself and my “tribe” will be enjoying this very weekend, Friday night through Monday morning! — devilish smirk —
So wish you would join us! — warm wink —

I’ll bet you would. – falls about – I appreciate the invitation mind you, it’s always nice to be wanted, (unless the poe-lease are after you and your face is on a paoster that is) . Glad you enjoyed the ride Prof, I can’t say I know any of the other artists you mention, so I’ll have a gander on the tube of yoos anon.

Well my fair maiden, I could “Ooo and wow” you with many a tune, but I’ll keep it modest (chuckling under his breath) and leave this one favorite of mine, if I may…

Cracking – I especially like the electronics in this, it really gets into its stride as it progresses, and it stuck with me the second time I listened so it shall now go onto esme’s present ipod playlist.
Some lyrics they are, are they too. – nods – Thank you Professor, excellent choice.

Nice bit of echo there, but you can’t beat some good old harmonies. I recommend a cassette of this Professor Taboo:

I love music, but I feel I am stuck in the old “reliables” or else in the 80s, so I am always grateful when someone introduces me to something new. Great song, fun video. Thank you for the music! Harlon

Yes I do know what you mean, and I too have a playlist that has songs within that I have loved for decades, but every now and then, a new one pops up, and I’m very glad to have been the supplier of this one that you enjoyed today Harlon.

Never heard of this. But then I am 92 in the shade. Used to be a huge T Rex fan. I still have an original vinyl copy of Electric Warrior and rthe first single I bought was Hot Love.
Used to have billboard size poster of Marc Bolan on my bedroom wall.
My dad once remarked:” Don’t say anything, but your mother thinks you might be going a bit … er … y’know, funny?”
Oh, really?
So I took Bolan off the wall and replaced it with a huge poster of a nude.
My bedroom faced the street and with the curtains open you could see the poster as you walked by.
Attracted a fair amount of attention from the rather conservative neighbours for a while.
I was not popular with my mum for quite some time.

Hahahahaha, brilliant. What a way to handle it. Marc Bolan was an amazing performer, T-Rex the whole package so to speak.
Thanks for popping over Ark. Are you actually 92? You seem about four decades younger, but if so, you’re a very cool nonagenarian sir!

Well I’ll just add this to the every growing Esme win column.
takes out notebook and pencil with his Mr. Men pencil attachment and scribbles ‘Also has excellent taste in music.’
Definitely see the T-rex similarities. Very cool video to go along with the song!

What a ride 😄

It was wasn’t it? Thank you for the smile and for reminding me of another few words about a ride –
“The world is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real, because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round and it has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud. And it’s fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: ‘Is this real? Or is this just a ride?’ And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and they say ‘Hey! Don’t worry, don’t be afraid — ever — because… this is just a ride.’ And we kill those people.
‘Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride! Shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry; look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real.’ It’s just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that — ever notice that? — and we let the demons run amok. But it doesn’t matter, because… it’s just a ride, and we can change it any time we want. It’s only a choice. No effort. No worry. No job. No savings and money. Just a choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy bigger guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.
Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, into a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defense each year and, instead, spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would do many times over — not one human being excluded — and we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever. In peace.” – Bill Hicks (one of esme’s favourite people)

The uploader of that crumpet video has seen fit to exclude Bermuda and the Galápagos Islands (in deference to Darwin, I suppose) in a bid to avert, where ever possible (island nations being particularly susceptible to the sight of prurient gyrations–and in particular those disguised as artful dissemination of angelic voices), moral corruption by treacly stuff. Darn. And I had such great faith in the internet.
I was able to find a sans-video version of Twist elsewhere and was, nevertheless, enthralled.

I love it when you talk Prospero to me.
I shall have this piece framed once it has been translated by my hoarde of alien minions, (imprisoned in the dungeon upon the Cloud for the duration of one week at present for their cheek, what with them oozing with superability and percipience). They should take a leaf from your tome sir and I’ll tell them so when taking the slop bucket down there as well an all.
