The Sound of Music Esme
Cartwheels, ephemera and puns about spanking,
A punch in the jaw and an eager chap yanking,
Awards for the best beard, a redhead with wings,
These are a few of the gifts Esme brings.
Happenstance odysseys and shady soul shifters,*
Tongue-tips on titters and Mr Zane Griftor,
A head in a jar, the entwining of limbs,
These are a few of the gifts Esme brings.
When the squid growls,
When the muse howls,
When you’re feeling sad,
Just come to the Cloud and eat large sticky buns
And soon you will be . . . quite mad.
Dicey dystopias, revenge-laden lizards,
Suicidal scarecrows and quite pissed-off wizards,
Two hearts held together with tins and some string,
These are a few of the gifts Esme brings.
A Mothman takes flight and two thighs clasp a pendulum,
Some deadly fellatio and many addendums,
An old chap stands proud, and a succubus grins,
These are a few of the gifts esme brings.
A book (it’s not for you), and stalker’s strange pleasures,
Some wild wonky wordplay, a casket of treasures,
The end of a monster – The Milky Way pings,
These are a few of the gifts Esme brings.
When the ink dries,
When the dove cries,
When you’re feeling sad,
Just come to the Cloud and eat large sticky buns
And soon you will be . . . quite mad.
The Minister for Squeaks and Napoleon’s rabbits,
A wise Cloud once said, and an Empress’s odd habits,
Slambanging-clangers and blindfolded flings,
These are a few of the gifts Esme brings.
Dejected fired muses that double as floosies,
Heathcliffe and Count Orlock their charisma it oozes,
A vegan verbose with Cloud atlas achings,
These are a few of the gifts esme brings.
When the flame starts,
When the moon farts,
When you’re feeling sad,
Just come to the Cloud and eat large sticky buns
And soon you will be . . . quite mad.

*good luck shaying that shwiftly shir/mishes.
ps- if you don’t click through all the links you clearly don’t love esme enough.

Rather brilliant, Esme! Your gifts are always the very best.. . 🙂

Esme is a gift in herself! And, quite clearly, a genius. I shall be happy to eat sticky buns and become quite mad until the end of time. I am pretty mad already, to be quite frank.

I’m not sure about the genius part, but I’ll wrap myself in a red bow for you any day misses – laughs Thank you Lucy, when you are a full Frank you’ll be competely baked crazy-wise I’m guessing hahahaha.

Horrified nuns and big sticky buns – these are two of my favourite things, ideally enjoyed together. But my favourite favourite thing is Esme’s Cloud. Did I prove that point Esme? Just brilliant! H ❤

Thank you, you’re a great support to esme and her Cloud Hariod and definitely count as one of my favourite things too. ❤ X

There so many single intenders in this thread let alone double entendres that to wade in would be asking to be to have one´s sticky buns mauled never mind chewed.

This is of course all in the mind. Yours for one. Hahahahaha. – (throws several sticky buns at him and looks as innocent as a bathtub full of bullets**)

Yes, you need to bring wet wipes when entering this space, unless you like licking the sticky off yourself (what visual).
Lucky for you (I now see) and H, Esme’s buns are nutless.

Wow esme! You have created the most brilliant table of contents, writ and lilt for song strong. But there is more and much: a TOC with contextual annotation (and stuff). As a new cloud-reader I can catch up with all the cloudery. A tip o’ the hat that covers my baldish pate from sun and storm 🙂

Bill I am honoured you think so and highly chuffed that you’ve written those words just for esme. Thank you! It’s great to have another wonderful word lover to join the crew and enjoy the ‘stuff’ round these parts – gestures at lots of parts. Hahahaha – curtsies, shakes his hand, then waltzes across the Cloud with him

Time being the determining factor, I didn’t click all of these, as your stats will well reveal: Spanking (not quite the visual I had hoped for), A Punch in the Jaw, Gifts, Eat Large Sticky Buns (wasn’t what I thought), Two Thighs Clasp a Pendulum (Something like I thought), Large Sticky Buns (Again, not what I thought), Quite Mad, Slambanging-clangers, Floosies (Yeah, that’s more like it), Cloud Atlas Achings (Absolutely love this one), Large Sticky Buns (How many more times can I fall for that one, eh?), and Finally, Quite Mad.
Excellent work, esme.

I know, and there are so, so many links, herefore I’m very pleased you chose some at random and found you really enjoyed them, some revisited, some sticky new options (the original shebang was rather more dodgy than the end product hahahaha)
“Cloud Atlas Achings (Absolutely love this one)” – Me too. It’s a killer isn’t it?
“Excellent work, esme.” – Thanking you kindly Peter, that’s a fair chunk of time lavished on esme and very much appreciates it.

Taking great pride in my sanity, I read your glorious table of contents in my best Julie Andrews voice, and was astounded at how closely the imagery resembled the goings-on at one of my infamous ‘dress up as your favorite Spice Girl’ parties, given bi-annually in the foyer, where thousands of criminals and ex-criminals gather to let their hair down, so to speak.
My Favorite Things will forevermore be known to me as Esme’s Song…

Hahahahaha. And which is your ‘Spice’ of choice to dress up as? (No actual spices like cinnamon, or aftershaves allowed – looks stern-ish). Are you a ciminal or an ex-criminal or do you just hang about with them all? I’m asking too many questions aren’t I? It sounds marevllous and this is the best part – “My Favorite Things will forevermore be known to me as Esme’s Song…” – Thank you good sir, I’m honoured to hear it. (You’ll be cursing me within a few hours mind you as the melody is an absolute bugger to get out of one’s head.)

Val hugging Esme because she worked so hard on this, is so talented, and made my day!!

Aw, well, thank you Val! It was hard work arranging the links, no doubt about it, but the rest, though it took a while to be moulded ‘just-so’ was a riot to write. As I said to Peter I had to tame it down it a little, my ‘advisor’ had a word when he read the final draft. Hahahaha. It all worked out for the best in the end, though I’ll be singing the whole shebang for weeks now I’m sure. And I don’t even like ‘The Sound of Music’! Hahahaha. The Life of Brian is much better. – nods. I’m so pleased to have tickled you and made your day.

Perusing the comments, as I was and pondering do i love esme more or shall i wash more black grapes, being covered in what I assume is a protective coating or radioactive dust, though they glow not, I washed every grape but clicked only so many links, then realizing that a grape in the water will never be worth one esme upon the cloud, for the grapes are now consumed, gone. This, my fate. I shall consider retreating to the Wudang Mountains as penance. Or add more rum to my diet, whichever…

“then realizing that a grape in the water will never be worth one esme upon the cloud” – Many travel the path, but few reach this level of enlightenment Robert. nods sage and parsley-like Thank you for all the finger-clicking done, far more than most, and the interest is very much appreciated. It is deemed that you do indeed love esme enough and she returns said love in a bucket made from starlight (with 2kg of the finest washed black grapes from the Cloud’s vineyard).
