This life has a hunger for chaos
An appetite for optimism
This life is an untrustworthy glutton
Beware and behold its packed plethora:
Word-of-mouth cheap assurances
Stuffed with promises of beginners luck
It emerges warped, needy and cunning
Theatrics blooming birth bloody screams
Cries blind no foul — swears reward in heaven
To begin a residency constructed
Of razored hooks and shifty background crooks
First carefully eye shiny joys
For beneath lie fetid trails
(I’m telling you right now, your guarantee is shady as fuck)
Powerful volleys to and fro, back and forth from the insipid to the inspired.
Affronts along a front, a stab to quash a sob,
Evil vile slithers, yet the spirit gently vies
In disguise,
Yet
Innocence survives to swivel from the drivel,
To cast aside the lies that wither,
A while before joining the sewers
Of their minds.

Well worded Bill, thank you; this is less pure terror, more a warning for awareness, make hay whilst the sun shines but know there’s no suncreen that’ll save anyone in the end.

Less pure terror is welcome and bracing, Esme. And awareness beats the tar out of the slithering living-dead zombies who slather on that sunscreen. Or words to that effect.

You’ve seen through the lies and the empty pizazz,
And beneath, evidently, found Hell;
A hunger for chaos this life surely has,
And trails most fetid as well.
Did some vile person or thing prompt this post,
Some needy and cunning warped lie?
Some glutton untrustworthy daring to boast
Shiny joys you found needful to eye?
There’s wisdom indeed in confronting the truth
That no Heaven’s rewarding awaits.
Still I hope you’ll eventually find that, in sooth,
This life has also positive traits.

‘Did some vile person or thing prompt this post,’ – No. No person – life. As I said to Bill it’s about awareness; the only way to ever know just what happens as we go through the different phases of life, the inevitable losses, the terrible revelations, finding out ‘last man/being standing’ is far more likely a curse than a blessing, is to experience them. The results can’t be sugar coated, shouldn’t be, but this is about looking the damn thing in the eye saying ‘I SEE YOU’ and living the most fulfilling life possible around this knowledge. Positivity intact; the shape of it changes. Survival comes in many forms, but being a survivor isn’t always akin to winning the lottery.
Thank you for the words Infidel, I always appreciate the effort you put into your comment here.

“I see you” may be bedrock clay
For each to build life’s tower on;
Yet surely none should dare to say
That Esme’s much like Sauron! 🙂

We’ll believe anything for a guarantee. And that’s our downfall. Thanks for this Esme.
We know what will come. We are the witness and the prophet.
But we can still raise a glass to the life that we can imagine and be grateful for the clouds we live on. 🌤🥂🌥

Absolutely. Gratitude goes hand in hand with acceptance too I reckon. It’s ultimately far easier on the soul, and the darkness is all part and parcel of the rollercoaster ride. Once you’re strapped in you’ll do better to keep your eyes open whilst screaming in horror or howling with glee, closing them for fear of it all just makes you throw up. We’re sold the ‘Happy Ever After’ deal without a magnifying glass for the small print. Hope is a thing with a baseball bat behind it’s back eh? Hahahahahaha. No, I’m kidding about the last part Emily D would never forgive me for that – grins

Well now Esmeralda. Tell us how you REALLY think and feel about this life (and lip-service?) Upon your Cloud!? 😉 hehe

Hahahahahahahaha,
Indeed. No punches held here eh? The Cloud is a great place to be, and a bee is always welcome on the Cloud.

It really is a matter of which illusion you settled on and carried forth.
Some prefer the discounted package and others the one with colorful bows.
Surprise, Surprise it has been a lie all along.
As you step off the platform into the EXPRESS, leave your luggage at the station.
And just put forth a solemn request that there isn’t a return trip!
Happy cheers from Tubularsock!
